Whole Food, Plant-Based Recipe The Best Beet Burgers

My (non-vegan) kids prefer these burgers to any traditional burger. They are guaranteed to be a big hit!

Ingredients

  • 3 beets, peeled and diced

  • 1 cup whole oats
  • ¼ cup ground flaxseed meal
  • 1 red onion, diced
  • 15-oz can of black beans
  • 1 tsp diced garlic
  • Avocado, tomato, and/or sprouts for topping

Instructions

1. Boil beets and garlic in water for 12 minutes. Let cool.
2. Sauté onions until translucent. Let cool.
3. Add beets, onions and all other ingredients to food processor with S blade.
4. Process at low speed to desire texture.
5. Form into patties and grill or bake on parchment paper at 450°F for 8 minutes on each side.
6. Serve with your favorite toppings.
