Whole Food, Plant-Based Recipe Tahini Mayonnaise

This tahini may be a perfect addition to so many dishes. See the recipe for ‟Chickpea Tuna Sandwich” which uses this mayo as a key ingredient.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup tahini (sesame seed paste, preferably unhulled for calcium)

  • ¼ tsp onion powder
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup warm water and apple cider vinegar, mixed
  • Juice of ½ a lemon

Instructions

1. Add tahini, onion powder, and garlic powder to a small mixing bowl and whisk together.
2. Add water and apple cider mixture a little at a time, continuing to whisk until you have a creamy, mayo-like paste.
3. Squeeze in lemon juice and incorporate. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
