Whole Food, Plant-Based Recipe Simple Avocado Toast

½ avocado
- White or red onion
- Lemon
- Tomato
- Black pepper
- Whole grain bread, sliced*
- Kale or arugula (optional)
Instructions
1. Prepare ingredients to build your sandwich.
2. Start with a slice of whole grain bread — if you’re gluten sensitive consider chickpea-based bread or a slice of lettuce.
3. Add your avocado, onion and tomato.
4. Right before you serve, add lemon and black pepper.
