This smoothie is packed with healthy ingredients that heal you from the inside. As noted by Hippocrates, ‟Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”

Ingredients

  • 1 cup spinach or kale (for vitamins and minerals)

  • ¼ tsp turmeric (anti-inflammatory)
  • Dash of black pepper (activates the turmeric)
  • ¼ tsp fenugreek (protects against cancer and improves muscle mass)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries, to taste (antioxidant)
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries, to taste (antioxidant)
  • ½ frozen banana, to taste (for potassium)
  • Almond milk (for vitamin E)
  • 1 tsp apple cider vinegar (helps with satiety and aids in weight loss)
  • 1 T almond butter or other nut butter (for protein and healthy fat)
  • Fresh Spirulina (optional)
  • Protein powder (optional)

Instructions

Put all ingredients in a high powered blender until blended.

Chef's Notes

• Add more or less almond milk to get to desired consistency.
• Feel free to add more or less of each ingredient to get to your desired taste and portion size.
• Top with any type of nuts, seeds or fruit. Tastes particularly good and packs a lot of additional nutrition when topped with ground flax, cocoa nibs and walnuts.
