Register for EventMovie Night in Sea Cliff: What the Health
Sea Cliff, NY 11579Join Plant Powered Metro New York for a home-hosted gathering and community screening of What the Health.
This investigative documentary explores the connections among diet, chronic disease, and the influence of major industries on public health. Following filmmaker Kip Andersen, the film examines why leading health organizations may be overlooking the role of animal-based and processed foods in conditions such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Featuring insights from physicians, researchers, and consumer advocates, What the Health invites viewers to consider how food choices, industry interests, and a plant-powered diet can shape personal and public health.
After the film, we’ll open the floor for a group discussion to share reflections and takeaways.
Guests are invited to bring a light snack to share as we mix and mingle before the screening. In the spirit of the film, bring a dish made only with whole plant foods — whole grains, beans, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Please, no animal-based foods, vegan processed foods, white flours, or added oils, and we ask you to minimize added sweeteners and salt.
Not sure what to bring? Reach out to info@ppmny.org for simple dish ideas or explore recipes via our website at ppmny.org/recipes.
Hosted by Irene and Ron Rizzo. This event may take place outdoors, if weather permits.

Ethos Farm to Health, 177 W Mill Rd, Long Valley, NJ 07853Join Ethos Farm to Health, Princeton Eats Plants, Plant Based New Jersey, and Plant Powered Metro New York for a special harvest potluck celebrating the season with wholesome dishes, live music, and community.
After the potluck, enjoy a performance by the Long Hill String Band, whose lively old-time Appalachian music — featuring fiddle, banjo, mandolin, upright bass, and guitar — will create the perfect soundtrack for an evening on the farm.
Please bring a whole food, plant-based dish to share, made with whole grains, beans, fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds. Please avoid animal products, vegan processed foods, white flours, and added oils, and keep added sweeteners and salt to a minimum. It’s a good rule of thumb to double a recipe you would make at home — everyone will want to try it!
In addition, please bring a printed list of ingredients or recipe, a serving utensil for your dish, your own plate, utensils, and water bottle to help us make this a low-waste event.
Free parking is available on-site. Please note that food cannot be warmed on the premises, and restroom facilities are limited to a portable restroom.
